I'm not sure I understand your suggestion.  Can you give an example?

What confuses me is the ``one of the menu entries'' part.  It sounds like 
you suggest to have a single menu entry followed by an alphabetical 
listing of the packages.  If so, that listing will be long, and without 
links to the relevant menu entries, which the reader can follow, it would be 
almost useless.

The reason I doubt such an alphabetic listing will be of marginal utility 
is that Info readers already have features which should make that listing 
unnecessary.  For example, typing "m a" and then hitting TAB twice should 
pop up a list of all menu entries which begin with `a' or `A'.

That's why I asked in this thread about the problems the alphabetical 
listing is supposed to solve.
