V2.03 update status:
Dec 02 - First refresh release to djgpp-workers
Dec 11 - Second release (fixes based on first release)
Dec 15 - GNU distributions added based on Dec 11 release
Dec 18 - Public Beta Announcement
Dec 20 - 193 users have downloaded 1107 distributions
Only reported problem is command line length limit change
with make + bash interaction
Dec 21 - 233 users have downloaded 1376 distributions
So far it's going well. I'm still a little concerned about the command
line length issue - the original poster insists it works using the
original files from Simtel. I see failures using the original files
from Simtel at the exact same failure point - but I was testing under
NT 4.0 (not Windows 98). I will try a small test on Win98 - and if I
can't determine if there has been a change get more information.
Does anyone know if either bash 2.04 on Simtel (6/30/01) or
make (7/14/00) were built with non-2.03 library enhancements? Both
contain 2.03 ident strings; but the bash 2.04 on simtel is around
3.5K bigger than the one I built with the refresh (could be binutils
or whatever).
