That's why I tried the GCC build with 2.05 and found the new problem :-( In any case, this machine is a clean Win2K install so has a short path. A 266 Mhz box with 144Mb memory running XP builds significantly slower than the 200Mhz Win2K with 96Mb memory box - so I'm finished testing XP for now. > 1) BASH 2.04 duplicated files that are included in CVS LIBC:- > > > > I removed the following files from the lib\dos directory: > > _dup.c > > _dup2.c > > dup.c > > dup2.c > > pipe.c > > tminit.c > > dosexec.c I did a quick compare for features/clashes with the 2.03 libc update. Only dosexec's patches would be missed, and the selector recovery feature is done elsewhere and the dosexec call to set the PSP isn't probably strictly required (it will get done on exit). So I think bash 2.04 built with the 2.03 refresh is what I will use for now. At this point you know a lot more about 2.05 than I do so I'll let you run with that one. > 2) Read seems to NOT wait for a CR before exiting the read function with > 2.04. Bash read function does not work and as such I cannot rebuild > Perl with 2.04 I don't know if the refresh changed this - I'll look in old emails to see if I can do a quick test.
