I haven't see this, but as you pointed out if you use the re-built files it
works fine. I will see if it does the same on my XP when I try to re-build
the files after downloading the updated 2.03 files.

IMHO as GCC is now self hosting on 2K and XP with the 2.03 refresh files
then the files could be uploaded to the beta directory of  Simtel for wider
usage.
