Hmm... but IIRC, the policy used to be to avoid *any* editing of DJGPP.ENV
by users. That's why many of those lines start with a '+': they only
supply a fallback value for the case that the user didn't set some
environment variable.
In that context, the README should tell people to add
set LANG=C
into autoexec.bat (or wherever else they put their set DJGPP=....),
shouldn't it?
