-: I contacted the author of the termcap package available from < -: http://www.simtel.net/pub/pd/49634.shtml >. He has agreed to let us use and -: make any changes required. It is full-featured (reads from a termcap file, -: etc.), but will require re-formatting and some tweaks. I've been hacking the tinytcap library from Elvis 1.8 with the hope that it could be added to djgpp. It's at beta stage, but I did not want to post any news about this (or approach Steve K for distribution permission) until I had done a bit more with it. However, I took a quick look at the above termcap package and it looks promising. AFAICT there is no support for padding, and the GNU extension `tparam' is not implemented, but neither of these features is implemented in the tinytcap library, either. Since you already have the author's permission to work with this lib, I think we should go with it.
