I also have a 2.03-compiled perl 5.6.0 lying around; I've been using it for quite a while without problems (except for the fd hoarding problem, but that's also present in the current official dj package). I'd be willing to upload a binary package to dj; I don't currently have time to get my source archive in a DJGPP-friendly state though.
