...and as you've correctly pointed out below, we are stuck
with current djtar capabilities.

Actually I don't care if those directories are in or out, but currently
I can't run the unpacker non-interactively, that's the problem.

Hm... Probably I will. And put on my TODO - 'improve djtar'. Such field
testing points out very good where djtar could be improved.
