Why not the other way around?  I'd prefer CD-specific calls to be used
unless we have good reasons not to.

It might also be okay to use both CD-specific calls and 217303, and if
they agree approximately, use some mix of their values to return.

Please try to maximize the accuracy of _all_ values in the struct
returned by statfs, not only the total size.

I think this should be tested.  Guessing is not a good policy with MS
OSes...
