Sure, but I'm afraid that there will be too many places to correct.

Since these symbols are somewhat mysterious (most users will have
problems understanding even where do they come from), we might be
breaking lots of working code.  The fact that mcount.c was overlooked
speaks volumes about the possibility of creating such problems.
