Perhaps you should implement them to be compatible with Linux' UMSDOS
file system. In short Linux puts information that doesn't fit in FAT
in a file called "--linux-.---" in each directory.

If you think this is something you want to do, let me know and I'll
try to find time to examine and write down the format of this file.
