I have made several changes in Binutils to correct some problems.  I
gave them some minimal testing, but before I go ahead and send the
diffs to the maintainer, perhaps someone else could take a look at
them.  Thanks.

I will send the diffs in several separate messages, one each for every
subdirectory of the Binutils package.
