My thoughts were directed to get some workaround for need to specify $DJDIR in prefix as it is not so easy to push '$' through configure files and Makefiles. Some work in this direction were done in GPC but making full support of '$' in configure parameters would require rather large work. So maybe it would be best to find another workaround. My suggestion was simply mentioned as one of possible way. I checked that it seems to work at least with one package (of course no real support as I didn't have needed modifications of libc.a) Andris
