Hello !
I compiled and packed BINARY distribution of DLM v2.0
SOURCE distribution is not ready yet and won't be soon -
I have to develop some scripts to process symbol tables
and so on while generating libc.dlm and DLMstub's export
table. It will take some time to read info/faq/docs and
some more to write makefile and assistant tools.
I wonder if it is possible to distribute binary distribution
via simtel for alpha/beta testing.
Files in dlm20b.zip are tested for viruses, tested for
consistency and are organized in following manner :
bin/dlmlnk.bat - batch file to link several .o into single .dlm
bin/dlmman.exe - DLM Manager - untility to create and manage DLMs
include/dlmlib.h - include file for users of DLM API
lib/dlm/dlm.djl - linker script for use with ld -r while merging .o
lib/dlm/dlmstub.exe - stub file, added to main DLM file to produce exe
lib/dlm/emu387.dlm - 80387 emulation DLM replacement for emu387.dxe
lib/dlm/libc.dlm - libc.a + libgcc.a
contrib/dlm20/tests/exception/ - exception throw/catch test
dlm.env - environment addon to djgpp.env for DLMs
manifest/ - as usual ;-)
So the package self-installs during unpacking, but
cut-and-paste from dlm.env to djgpp.env required (actually
optional, but who want to type long paths in command lines?)
However I have my own FTP server to place the package,
it will be available in two days at
ftp://solo.iis.nsk.su/pub/djgpp/dlm/dlm20b.zip
I just want your suggestions and comments ;)
I also apologize for old docs - I'll rewrite them as soon
as finish will source distribution. They still describes well in
general, however details may change.
Another point of talk - I need ideas of further development and
also which system convert to DLMs. I thought of Allegro, cause
it has many drivers - exact for DLMs! - but it is too large for
the start. If anyone will help ... I also think about TurboVision
port to DLMs, it is much more interesting due to object-oriented
nature, but much more complex. But it suites well for Named Class
feature. So ...
It seems I'm talking too much, but I'm sooooo enthusiastic now
as my project works! ;))
