Forget I asked. I found the answers by searching the DJGPP mail 
archives. I tried to search them earlier, but the site was running 
slow at that time.
 
The alternative I've been told is to use the -frepo flag, but from 
browsing the egcs mailing list archives, it would seem -frepo is 
broken in egcs 1.1 and from using it, it certainly seems that way.
