Hi

I have uploaded following files to ftp://delorie.com/incoming:

 7.04.98 10:43 1 325 892 gcc281b.zip
 6.04.98 21:33 5 304 983 gcc281s.zip
 6.04.98 19:50 1 355 651 gpp281b.zip
 3.04.98 19:23 687 734 lgp2811b.zip
 3.04.98 21:25 2 366 336 lgp2811s.zip
 6.04.98 19:43 703 266 objc281b.zip

I have tested building from sources with LFN enabled only. I hope
compiling gcc and libraries will work also without LFN support, but this
requires testing of course (perhaps it will be necessary to install manually
if LFN support is not available, as I'm afraid 'sh djmake.sh install prefix=...'
will not work)

Exceptions should works after some things mentioned in readme.djgpp is
done (I included sample DJGPP.ENV in gcc281b.zip: gnu/gcc-2.81/djgpp.env)

I worked with gcc-2.8.1 already for some time and all was Ok. Today I
recompiled RHIDE using programs from binary archives, recompiled gcc
itself.

I had some not very significant problems with 'make check' in libg++
(see readme file) which does not influence correct work of library.
Other tests worked Ok.

Perhaps these archives should be placed in v2/alphas for some more testing.

Please test the distribution:

- Does it work in general after installing it or are there some
missing files reported (probably because of incorrect paths).
I hope there should be none.

- Is it possible to recompile from the sources (which are already
  configured)

- Are there any LFN- NOLFN-problems (what works and what does not
  work, especially without LFN support)

- Any problems (of course only DJGPP related)

The problems with generating temporary files that does not fit in DOS
8+3 limits is now fixed (MKTEMP_EACH_FILE is defined).

Happy testing

Andris Pavenis
