Content-description: Mail message body

A little while ago I sent mail to DJ and Eli about updates to the
urls given in the faq and libc.inf (dpmi.txh) for obtaining the DPMI
spec.

Since external urls are subject to frequent change with little or no
notice, it seems to me that instead of listing them in various places
in the distributed info files it makes more sense for the info files
to provide a stable url pointing to an online list of links.

Attached is a text file containing updated links that I discovered
this afternoon--this shows what I mean.

I would also be willing to render this text file into html, if
someone would provide a server to host the on-line list of links and
take over maintainance. (I'd do this myself except that my
allocation on UW ftp and http servers goes away right after I
graduate--so those are certainly not stable urls to put into the
distributed info files!)

Then I'd be willing to provide a diff for the 2.02 alpha dpmi.txh
file, editing it so that it just contained pointers to the list of
online links and to the dpmi spec at www.delorie.com (since DJ
controls that url it's presumably stable :).

specification as of 14 Feb 98. The latest version of this list is
available from:

ftp:// ?WHERE? /get_spec.txt
http:// ?WHERE? /get_spec.html

If you have the latest version of this list and notice that any of the
links are outdated please let ?WHO? know.

You can browse the version 1.0 specification online at:

http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/doc/dpmi/

or download HTML files from:

http://www.delorie.com/djgpp/doc/dpmi/dpmi-spec.tar.gz

A text copy of the DPMI version 1.0 specification is available by
anonymous ftp from:

ftp://ftp.intel.com/pub/IAL/software_specs/dpmiv1.txt
ftp://x2ftp.oulu.fi/pub/msdos/programming/specs/dpmi100.zip

A text copy of the DPMI version 0.9 specification is available by
anonymous ftp from:

ftp://ftp.qdeck.com/pub/general/dpmispec.zip
ftp://x2ftp.oulu.fi/pub/msdos/programming/specs/dpmispec.arj

You can also obtain a ?PAPER? copy of the DPMI version ?VERSION?
specification by contacting Intel and ordering document number
240977-001.

Some information about the DPMI API is also found in the Ralf Brown's
Interrupt List, which is available by anonymous ftp in the directory:

ftp://ftp.simtel.net/pub/simtelnet/msdos/info/

in files named inter##?.zip where ## should be replaced by the latest
version number (e.g. '56') and ? is a letter for each section of the zip
distribution. Look at the functions of Interrupt 31h, or search the
files for the word `DPMI.'
