Try looking for books on writing Win32 device drivers/DLLs.  I saw
several such lately.

Welcome to the world of dysfunctional MS docs.  I almost never use it
because it includes a lot of obvious info (like ``if you need to open
a file, click "File", then click "Open"'') but when I really need some
piece of non-trivial information, I cannot find anything, either
because it's simply undocumented or because it's hidden in some place
where you would never look for it.

There was a thread on gnu.emacs.help a few days ago, where somebody
said that Emacs should have a friendlier help system, ``e.g., like in
MS Windows''.  Then I told them what I thought about MS docs...
