It's a couple of operations when done as a macro (so essentially zero overhead). The only reason I suggested a macro was for maintainability and flexibility (if someone really needs some other case or has a valid reason to use 0 as an address, then it's a simple recompile). It's not even clear someone wants this project enough to adopt it and do it.
