This breaks some of the symlinks distributed with a few DJGPP packages (I
noticed it when I tried to use `install' from GNU Fileutils).  Besides,
according to our experience, bugs tend to lie dormant for months, at which
time a flood of complaints about this same bug hits the news group...

There is no stub.exe in v2.  The stub is encoded inside stubify.
