Not guilty!

The syntax of specs is only documented in the gcc sources (you can, of
course, get gcc.c and print the relevant part of it); I never understood
it in its entirety.  However, if you look at DJGPP's specs, I think you
will understand immediately what everything it says and how to make this
small change.
