Well, basically what I would like the program to do is recommend to the
user one of the configurations mentioned in the FAQ based on how much
base RAM they have. I mean, it's easy enough to just say "Free up more
RAM, loser," but I wanted to be a bit more descriptive. ;) This isn't
really needed right now, but I would like to consider adding it in the
future.
I took a look at the URL that Morten Welinder recommended
(http://www.uruk.org/grub/), but the references I found there seem to
say that you have to be running in real mode to use the appropriate BIOS
functions. I really don't know enough about this subject, but might it
be possible to take that code and package it in a real mode call from a
DJGPP program? If anybody would like to attempt such a piece of code
and send it to me, I'd be more than happy to credit you in my program.
P.S.: I am nearly ready to upload a preliminary version of DJVERIFY to
DJ's ftp site, but I still need to work on a few touches (such as basic
documentation and output formatting). I'll be sure to notify you all
when it's up.
