Today I have read all the discussion about this problem (on weekends I
can't do this) and here is my opinion:

Because the changes, to support the aout format are very small
(adding a commandline switch when compiling two files and adding
some files to the library) I will do it.

The other reason is: If I had added the aout support for the BFD
library form the beginning on I think no one would discuss about
this problem.
