In order to make the makefile more flexible (and allow cross-development
easier)
1) use CC=gcc, and $(CC)
instead of hard coding gcc.
Do something like
$(BINPATH)/foo$(EXE): $(OBJS)
where defaults for BINPATH=../../../bin
EXE=.exe
to allow easy cross-generation
(i.e. make BINPATH=. EXE=
For example, in texi2ps, I did:

Also, would it be bad to build the info files in the current directory
and then move them? This is what I do (I edit the info files not
to move them elsewhere...)
