Game Music System 1.1 released
------------------------------
Game Music System (GMS) v1.1 is an FM tracker, intended for the creation of
music for (Shareware) games and demos. Some of the features that GMS has
that other FM trackers don't:
* Supports Adlib, Soundblaster, and Soundblaster Pro I and II as separate
modes.
* Compose in 18-channel stereo (when in one of the Soundblaster Pro modes).
* Samples can be played in parallel with the FM music.
* Music "subroutines" can temporarily divert from the main tune to play a
subtune.
* FM effects (lasers, etc) can be handled by the music driver.
* Public domain play routine, with full source code. Compiles under DJGPP
2.0/2.01 and Borland C++ 3.1.
* Open module and instrument formats, fully documented.
* A sane user interface.
GMS requires:
* A 386 or better computer running MS-DOS.
* An Adlib, Soundblaster series, or 100% compatible soundcard.
* A mouse (this is optional, but makes editing much easier).
The best place to obtain GMS from is the author's web page, which is at:
ftp://ftp.netcom.com/pub/ma/malyon/top.html
It can also be downloaded from Simtelnet:
