Masloch ("ecm") pointed me to <https://www.gnu.org/software/make/manual/html_node/Substitution-Refs.html#Substitution-Refs>. Of course, this works case-sensitive. When I call 'make DJGPP=C:\DJGPP\DJGPP.ENV' it works fine. :-) -- Robert Riebisch
