There's a bit of a clue right there in the login request dialog.  It 
says that the output of the website was "Maintenance"...

The date this began to fail is also supiciously close to the activation 
day of the EU's new general privacy rules, the "GDPR", which was May 25. 
  He might have decided to take cover until the dust settles on that.

Robert does have a new, personal web-site: it's under his own name, with 
a "dot de". So if push comes to shove, somebody might be able to reach 
him there.
