I agree, thus I think you should publish at c.o.m.d a patch that can be
inspected by all interested parties and serve as a starting point for future
development.  But if this is not done at least by someone nothing will ever
happen.  In the worst case we can use a fixed version of the one I have posted
some days ago.  But IMHO it is you who should make the first step and provide
something.
