Like: libavcodec/libavcodec.a: $(OBJECTS) echo $(OBJECTS) > ar.tmp ar rc $@ @ar.tmp rm -f ar.tmp Not sure if there's a limit then. I have had to use this trick even with MingW building huge libs. --gv
