Thank you for your messages. Yes, I do have \djgpp\djgpp.env and I checked the path \djgpp\ssl\openssl.cnf. You usually keep several versions of a package on the djgpp FTP server but for openssl the old version is unfortunately gone. Rugxulo, I read the interesting link to the mailing list. Since I got "openssl s_client" to run OK this means that openssl works, not quite sure about libssl.a. To test that one would need a working example code. I will be traveling for a week now and continue then. Still hope that Juan may find a working example. Georg
