You can install an older version, then download an upgrade from the MS
site.

Install a good antivirus, and you will have no reason to prefer W7.
In general, disabling features is not a good way of fighting
intrusions, because sooner or later you will need the disabled
feature.

Yeah, right. The most vociferous critics are no doubt MS agents who
want you to buy newer versions. XP is in fact rock solid, and W7 has
still a long way to go before it can compare with XP.
