The Linux kernel uses sgdt and lcall, so presumably it should work: http://lxr.linux.no/source/include/asm-i386/desc.h#L120 http://lxr.linux.no/source/arch/i386/pci/pcbios.c#L66 RayeR, if you just can't get it to work, you could try compiling the assembly code in another file with nasm and linking it with the C code. http://grack.com/writings/misc/InterfacingDJGPPwithNASM.html seems to be a decent introduction to this. -- Carey Evans
