That's not true. At least not for me and probably not for anyone
else. We know very well that we have a new DJGPP release in the
works. However we don't have time, so time passes. And is likely to
continue to do so until somebody has time.

There's no need to fork. Just make sure that the next version of DJGPP
is released. Then you can work on the next release of DJGPP.
The first thing to do is read the mail archives to figure out what
needs to be done. There are/were some web pages describing the status
as well, IIRC. Then subscribe to djgpp-workers and see if anyone have
time to answer questions.
