Has anyone observed > this? Is there a solution? This is a known misfeature of the versions of Windows that are NT descendants: when they see a DOS program that chdirs into a different directory, they switch the DOS box's current directory to its 8+3 alias. Since the prompt uses that value of the current directory, you see the ugliness when you are back at the prompt. I don't know of any solution to this (except not to run DJGPP programs). I usually do a "cd ..\curdir" to regain the LFN name again.
