a bug has been reported on the djgpp version of btrieve support by Perry 
Malen  <perry AT capitolnewsagency DOT com>

i will post the whole source again, but in the mean time, please use the 
following fix:

change the line

    if (!dosdatamem_init || dosdatamem.size)

with

    if (!dosdatamem_init || !dosdatamem.size)
