Lack of creativity maybe. After unsuccessfully scanning index files for
'libc', 'lib', 'library', etc. I was tempted to believe that libc is closely
related to gcc and would be somewhere hidden amongst the 20MB+
gcc archive.

Roger. But they are somewhat easier to find from my subjective
point of view.

Thanks. Found them, checked them and they seem to be unrelated
to both glibc and the BSD libraries I have seen so far at the first glance.
If someone could spare the time to enlighten me about their historic
roots, I'd be grateful ...
