I looked up freopen in ISO/IEC 9899:1999 (ISO C) and it agrees with you, but DJGPP doesn't support that (sorry, it's not portable enough for you ;) Feel free to either 1) file a bug report on the djgpp bug page, or 2) post a patch. Or both, I suppose.
