In the end of the day, makefile writing is an integral part of the job of creating a big multi-source program in C or C++. But there are tools that can help. GNU automake and autoconf, e.g., are especially useful if you're planning to build that program on anything else but DJGPP (or even GCC), later. But they have merit even if you don't. A Makefile.am is a good deal easier to write than an actual makefile. And it'll generate code that handles all the pesky details of dependency tracking for you, too. -- Hans-Bernhard Broeker (broeker AT physik DOT rwth-aachen DOT de) Even if all the snow were burnt, ashes would remain.
