What's wrong with "man".  Works fine here.  I believe it needs to
have "less" available.

You have something seriously mis-installed.  I run info here in a
separate window with:

  start c:\djgpp\infolnk.pif

and the pif was made by modifying a console window.  So info opens
a separate window, runs, and closes it on exit.
