Read up on namespaces, and the std namespace in your favourite
C++ textbook. You need to qualify references to stuff in the
standard library with the std namespace, like so:

std::cout << "DJGPP is cool" << std::endl;

Also read up on using directives..

using namespace std;

and using declarations..

using std::cout;
using std::endl;

The deprecated headers should not cause any strange text display
glitches. I expect you will need to be more specific.
