Can you compile other programs?  You're using XP, which adds new
adventures to the installation of DJGPP in general, and recursive
'make' invocations in particular.

What "Butt" is that?

The error points at the way make executes shell commands.  For this
makefile, make sure you do _not_ have SHELL set to a Unix-style shell
like DJGPP's bash.exe.  This makefile clearly expects to be used with
COMMAND.COM as the shell.
