Hi!
I'm a "mature-age" IT student who has just completed
a C programming subject, using DJGDD on Windows 98
(version 2), and using pfe32 as my editor - nothing
fancy, but a good, basic combination that WORKED.
Now I've started an introductory graphics subject, so
have downloaded SGI's OpenGL version 1.1 for Windows and
GLUT version 3.7, which I want to use as an extension to
my present DJGDD/pfe 32 Windows 98 setup. Various people
have assured me it CAN be done, but NO-ONE has been able
to tell me HOW to do it.
So:-
(i) Is it possible?
If so:-
(ii) Can files from OpenGL and/or GLUT be placed in
existing DJGDD directories so as to avoid having to
add to my PATH? If so, which ones, and where?
(iii) What changes do I have to make regarding .dll files?
(iv) What are the commandline compiler instructions?
If anyone can help me with this please feel free to
email me directly at ja DOT woodcraft AT student DOT qut DOT edu DOT au
because I haven't worked out how to access the bulletin
board or discussion forum yet.
I've read the 10.4 FAQ on DJ's excellent website and will
go chasing the alternative product mentioned there if
it really is impossible to do what I'm trying to do.
But given how good DJGDD has been so far I will be
surprised if it really does turn out that I can't!
Any help will be much appreciated because my first
assignment is due for submission in two weeks.
Thank you,
Adrian Woodcraft
