Have a look at the freedos web site. They sometimes have replacements
for stuff like this. For example there is a USb driver for dos
available on one of the links.

Another suggestion is to see if there is a driver available for Linux
and it may be open source, then all you have to do is port it..... no
idea how hard this will be.
