[snip] Windows NT/2000/XP support Virtual DOS Devices (VDD), which are basically DLLs. They allow you to provide services to DOS programs running under Windows NT/2000/XP. The long filename extension for Windows NT/etc. is a VDD. Someone could write a VDD to provide the standard packet driver interface to programs running in DOS boxes under Windows NT/etc. It might be simpler to write a VDD for the TCP ABI specification, since that is a higher-level interface than packet drivers.
