Please check that you have a TMPDIR environment variable set outside
of your DJGPP.ENV, and that it points to a *local* disk. The default
coded into DJGPP.ENV is that the temp. directory is %DJDIR%/tmp, which
you certainly don't want in a networked installation.
I.e.
set | grep TMPDIR
should show you a directory outside that SMB share.
