Is it possible to stop scanning and to report an error found?

I have to stop the scanning and to return an error message (to video) when
the scanner matches a special token "x". In other words, I need to stop the
scanning from inside the action of the rule "x".

Anther thing: is it possible to insert comments into flexer file, for
example in the definition section or in the rules section? And how?
