It seems logical for files to end in a newline if they are being 
preprocessed, since the include directive is designed to do exactly that, 
and not worry about syntax issues. It seems that other behaviour should 
be optionally flagged on if required, rather than off.

Well since this is a GCC feature rather than DJGPP, does this mean you 
aren't supporting any other GCC ports for eternity, e.g. unixes, cygwin?
