Hi,
I have been using DJGPP/RHIDE on Windows ME for ages with no problems and
then I upgraded my PC! The new box is running Windows XP (HOME EDITION). I
remember seeing several messages around Christmas time about issues and
solutions regarding XP but did not pay too much attention as I was not
planning to upgrade at that time.
Anyway, I have downloaded the latest set of zips from DJ's zip picker, made
a new djgpp folder and unzipped all the files into it just like the
readme.1st says I should. I then set up the environment variables and paths
and tried to test it - Alas, problems...
1) Rhide will not compile any thing, it claims that the command is too long
2) Bash seems to switch from long filenames to short filenames after a
command such as ls
I can give more details of these problems if required, although, I can't
help thinking that they have been addressed. Are there any special XP
patches that are no in the standard distribution files. There is nothing in
the FAQ that I could find and I couldn't get the mail archive engine to
search for messages including XP (it found no matches!)
Any hints, tips or pointers will be gratefully received.
Tim Nicholson
