Note that problems with any installation program in books, does not
concern us directly. It's the publisher's problem.

You don't need any book to have DJGPP: <http://www.delorie.com>.

The book is probably describing an old version of C++ anyway (a lot of
them are). If you post their hello world program here (should be early
in the book), we should be able to tell.
