You're mixing up things. That drop-down list ist *not* the
"options-directories-include" dialog box you were referring to
earlier. It's just a helper to avoid that tedious typing in of long
directory name which you so strongly opposed to in another posting in
this thread. If you don't like it, don't use it. Typing directly
into the field itself should always work, if memory doesn't fail me
exceptionally badly here.

IIRC, clicking on the same down-arrow again should also work to close
the list, as would clicking somewhere outside the drop-down selection
list.
